Actors I’d Love to See in My Scripts, Part 1

February25

I suppose everyone who writes scripts thinks “Man, wouldn’t it be awesome if INSERT ACTOR played this part?”

Well, I’m no different. I can watch the following ladies and gentlemen in just about anything they do, because they just have that much talent.

So, without further ado:

Jeremy Sisto

Mr. Sisto

Mr. Sisto first caught my attention on Six Feet Under and I’ve been a fan ever since. In anything he does, regardless of the material, he shines. Truly one of the most versatile actors working today.

Eric Balfour

Mr. Balfour

Another Six Feet Under alumni, I actually first recognized Mr. Balfour when he had a bit part on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When I was writing La Petite Mort he was the actor I had in mind for the lead role of “Mort”.

Amanda Seyfried

Ms. Seyfried

I first fell in love with Ms. Seyfried from her performance on Big Love. Despite being stunningly beautiful though, she also has an incredible acting range which is a rare combo. Plus, she just seems so damn nice!

Walton Goggins

Mr. Goggins

If ‘Shane’ from ‘The Shield‘ isn’t one of the most tragic characters in all of television history, I don’t know who is. I’ve followed Mr. Goggin’s career from afar, and I really, really hope he gets more screen time in whatever medium he chooses. A true thespian. I wrote both The Duckling and Push with him in mind.

Natalie Portman

Ms. Portman

What is there not to love about Natalie Portman? I mean, really, what can one say? Brains, beauty, and talent. Just to meet her would be an honor, let alone have her in one of my scripts!

Forest Whitaker

Mr. Whitaker

I would pay money to watch Mr. Whitaker read from a phone book, that is how much I love this guy. He deserves every accolade he’s ever gotten, of which there has been many. He’s the muse for ‘Detective Washington’ in my script The Duckling. I think he’s one of the few actors that could pull the role off to my satisfaction.

Tony Cox

Mr. Cox

I wrote roles for him in both La Petite Mort and Crossroads. While mainly a comedic actor, Mr. Cox has the range to be so much more.

Sam Trammel

Mr. Trammel

When I was writing Crossroads I had Mr. Trammel already cast as the lead, despite not knowing if he’s interested in either Sci-Fi or Action scripts, of which Crossroads is both in spades. He’s been allowed to really show his stuff on True Blood and I’ve become more impressed with him as an actor the more I see of him.

A lot more on my ‘Dream List’, but that’s all for now. Thanks for reading! And who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually get to meet someone I’ve written about here. Gotta’ have a dream.
